Earth Day Hike Through Interstate State Park

In the spirit of Unity, Come join us while we explore the great outdoors for Earth Day at the oldest state park (est. 1895) in Wisconsin and first state park to be built across two states (MN-WI)! My name is Sherry Slatosky. I am your MN State Volunteer Coordinator and I will be hosting the event in hopes of meeting as many volunteers and supporters as I can! I am hoping to see you all there!

We are going to take a scenic hike around the Wisconsin side of Interstate State Park. Being the oldest state park in Wisconsin, it offers breathtaking views of the river and some of Minnesota’s oldest towns near the St. Croix. Come explore what glaciers can do over years of erosion and natural volcanic lava flows preserved almost, in time.  See bald Eagles soaring above the beautiful St. Croix river and natural border between the beautiful cliffs of Minnesota and Wisconsin!  Take a break and watch as the old Queen paddle boat floats by in the distance with her guests waving to you as if to encourage you on your journey, from afar. Truly unforgettable memories to share with the whole family.

It will be a beginner level hike and it is a bit of up and down a bit with rocky unsteady ground in some places so please bring good footwear. People bring children up as well and 4+ should have no problem completing the hike.

We will pick up litter as we go and enjoy the scenic beauty this glacial park has to offer!

We will start at the Ice Age Interpretive Center:

1100 WISCONSIN-35 S St. Croix Falls, WI 54024

The event is free but a daily vehicle Permit ($7) or seasonal WI state permit is required for all vehicles at the gate. Please pay at the gate when you arrive.
